AUSTIN, TX – February 1, 2023 – Curative, a leading health services company that recently launched a new health plan in the Austin area, has promoted Dr. Crystal Riggs to Senior Vice President, Pharmacy Services, where she will have oversight of Curative’s health plan Pharmacy Department as well as Curative Pharmacy. With over 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Riggs will develop the overall strategy and focus for Curative Pharmacy. She oversees the health plan pharmacy team including clinical affairs, operations, contracting, and logistics as well as vendor and pharmacy benefits administration oversight.

Dr. Riggs has experience as an executive leader in pharmacy including large national health plan expertise. Over her career, she has authored numerous publications and presented on various topics including opioids, managed care operations, adherence, industry trends, and disease state management. Riggs earned her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.
Prior to joining Curative as Vice President, Pharmacy Services, Dr. Riggs held multiple leadership positions at Aetna, CVS Health, Express Scripts and Navitus Health Solutions, among others. Her experience in managed care includes: managing clinical affairs, health plans, PBMs, and the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Riggs has built several long-term care pharmacies from the ground up early in her career. She has been an active member of the Women Business Leaders of the US Health Care Industry Foundation (WBL) since 2021 as well as the Capital Area Pharmacy Association in Austin, TX since 2011, where she has served in organizational leadership roles including President.
The Curative plan is available to employers with more than 50 employees with a high-quality PPO network of providers including primary and specialty care, telemedicine, urgent care, and leading hospital facilities. In addition, Curative’s new health plan gives qualifying* members access to $0 preferred generic, brand, and specialty prescription drugs. Curative Pharmacy is a closed-door concierge pharmacy, meaning no waiting in line or taking time away from daily life to drive to the pharmacy. Curative Pharmacy makes getting a prescription easy, from processing the prescription (sent directly from the prescriber) and delivering the prescription typically within 24 hours to the member’s door at no cost. Curative’s extensive formulary has many specialty drugs that have a $0 copay.
